Buckley Camera Club has just passed it 3rd Birthday celebrating with a fun photo themed quiz night hosted by member Mark Newman. We would like to thank all our members both past and present for making our club as successful as it is and it's continued growth. We would also like to thank Buckley Working Mens Club for its continued support and use of facilities to host our meetings. The club has recently undertaken refurbishment works including new decor and carpet to the ground floor improving its excellent facilites even further. We have had a great start to the season with excellent talks from the speakers who have visited us and superb competition entries where the newer members have done brilliantly.

Congratulations
Congratulations go to all our members who entered our first competition of the new season entitled Flora and Fauna. We had our largest entry to date which made a for a very strong competition. Mr Peter Williams came out on top in the digital images with his image entitled “The Red Kite” and over in the printed section Mr Steve Anders scored top marks for his image “Don’t sit down”. Our newer members who entrered a competition for the very first time had a very strong slection of images and featured very highly in the results. The weeks and months of teaching and mentoring we have put in are starting to pay off which is great news for the club and its members.
The summer season has drawn to a close with the new 2018 – 2019 season starting in earnest on Wednesday 5th September. We have compiled a packed season of competitions, tuition, lectures and guest speakers so there is something for everyone. Take a look at our syllabus to see what we have on offer.
Summer season
At Buckley Camera Club we meet all year round, our summer season is a little less formal than the main season (September to April). We welcome guests and potential members to come and join us for an evening or two completely free of charge to see what we do. With a mix of indoor and outdoor activities there is always something new to learn. Post production of images in the computer using one of the many software’s available enables you to take your photography to new territory, we offer tuition to members on this subject extensively during the summer season. The subjects for our 2018 – 2018 competition have been set and can be found on the competitions page.

Competition season draws to a close
Last evening welcomed Mr Kevin Hirst to officiate over our final competition of the season. This was our first competition season since we opened our doors in November 2016. The standard of images for our first season has been truly remarkable with most of the judges encouraging us to enter into multi-club competitions and salons. Congratulations to every single member that entered this year.
